Cynthia Scherr has over 20 years of experience in senior-level executive functions and has worked extensively with businesses, non-profits, and government organizations.  She works with leadership and senior management teams on strategic planning, organizational development, and managing change. Cynthia chairs a peer group for CEOs and presidents of companies. Clients describe Cynthia’s strengths as focusing on what matters most, providing clear, insightful, thinking, and bringing high energy, candor, and a positive outlook to business challenges.  Cynthia has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MTS from Harvard Divinity School and a Bachelors degree from Oberlin College.

Cynthia works with senior management teams to further their understanding of business fundamentals, develop realistic strategic plans and align business goals with those of owners, shareholders and stakeholders.  She provides essential business tools and processes to accelerate achievement of the organization’s potential. 

Her clients include Lithia Motors, Lone Rock Timber Company, Bell Hardware, Freight Logistics, Ashland Community Hospital, Medical Eye Center, Micro-Trains Line, Inc., the Britt Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Providence Health System, Southern Oregon Head Start and Southern Oregon University. 

Cynthia teaches Organizational Leadership as an adjunct faculty member in the Southern Oregon University Master’s in Management Program.  Cynthia has taught for SOU at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico and at the SOU/RCC Higher Education Center in Medford.  She conducts workshops for the Southern Oregon High Performance Consortium and does training with individual companies.

Prior to starting Scherr Management Consulting in 1996, Cynthia was the Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Teaching Strategies, Inc. in Washington, DC.  She also held the position of Associate at Calvert Social Venture Partners, and was a member of the Strategic Planning team for the Commission on National and Community Service. 

Cynthia’s community involvement includes serving on the Executive Committee of the Southern Oregon University Foundation Board and membership in the Medford Rogue Rotary Club.  Cynthia serves on the Advisory Board for the SOU School of Business, the Business Needs Committee for the Rogue Valley Workforce Development Council and on the vetting committee for the Jefferson Grapevine. In her free time, she enjoys singing with the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers.
